Expanded Testing Initiative

(Tampa, FL – January 1, 2013) The USF Center for HIV Education and Research and the Florida Department of Health will continue to work collaboratively in 2013 to sustain progress made under the CDC’s Expanded Testing Initiative, which aims to significantly increase the number of persons tested in jurisdictions with a high rate of HIV among disproportionately affected populations and support implementation of the CDC’s Revised Recommendations for HIV Testing of Adults, Adolescents, and Pregnant Women in Health-Care Settings. The Center will provide technical assistance and HIV/AIDS resource materials to clinic providers and staff to assist with increasing the number of healthcare facilities that offer HIV testing and to assist funded venues on program sustainability.
